JOINT STATEMENT ON FARM BILL 2.0

“Congress should reject any Farm Bill that fails to address the harm done to people experiencing food insecurity and to family farmers in the Budget Reconciliation Act. Congress should only consider a Farm Bill that addresses the recent SNAP cuts affecting millions of people AND ensures our food is safer, more affordable, and healthier.

Only a Farm Bill that supports those who are struggling against hunger, family farms, young farmers, and rural communities is worthy of Congressional support. It must also protect the people who feed us, protect our environment, preserve existing safeguards, and preserve state and local powers to protect consumers and farm animals and feed people.

Congress should not support a Farm Bill that fails to reverse the devastation inflicted upon our nation's first line of defense against hunger, and fails to ensure that our food is produced in ways that are consistent with our values. No Farm Bill is better than a bad—or inadequate—Farm Bill.”
